Eico HF-81 coupling cap recommendation

Hello everyone

As you can see my HF-81 it's been heavily modded but the coupling caps are still the old black Pyramids, and I'm afraid they are not performing well any more.

I'd like to ask you if you have any recommendations for the coupling caps? I've thought about the Russian k40y9 that are affordable and PIO and the Comet that are PIO but expensive, but I'm not sure if that extra cost is with it in such a vintage unit.

From my understanding the value is .1uf 400v right?

Thanks and regards
Fernando

I thought the original coupling caps were 0.025uf. I think those 0.1uf caps are in the preamp section.

I also have used the k40y9's and they seem ok. They were pretty inexpensive when I bought them but that's quite a while ago.
Haven't used my HF81 in ages. Might dig mine out later and fire it up.

I've used k40y9s in a bunch of gear ( several years back when they were cheaper I'd buy lots so I could match them). I think they're good. After some experimentation, I've come to believe the magic is in the circuit design and not the caps.
Any good poly cap will work well though. Real orange drops, Panasonic films, Illinois cap.
