What does the sta in nikko sta receiver mean?
And what is better: nikko 7070, or nikko sta 7070?
I bought a nikko sta 8080. Anything that I need to know?

I don't know what STA stands for, but I can tell you that Nikko receivers are some of my favorites, they sound beautiful. Restored and gave away several, and every recipient happily kept them for years.

i ask cuz i have a nikko 5055 and i think to repair hem
but maybe the sta 8080 is better i dont know i need to know waht sta means

FWIW the 7070 and 8080 are identical, except the 8080 has a few more watts per channel, and a tuning meter. Same amplifier boards and components.

Not sure I agree. It probably sounds better than a 9090DB.

I remember hearing your Thiels and asking if you were playing the AU-D11 (or D11 II). You said no, it's the Nikko.

Yeah... I actually though it sounded better than the 9090DB, which seems a bit sacrilege. :)

I also have an 8080. It is a great mid power receiver. I have had a lot of Nikko's over the years since I bought my first one in 1976. Currently also have an Alpha II, Beta 30 and EQ 1.
